5 Problems With Not Paying Cell Phone Bills on Time

December 21, 2017 Francine Jones 0 Comments

Your cell phone bill has to be treated as just as important as the other bills that you have to pay. The reason is that not paying them can hurt you just as hard as not paying other bills can. The following are five problems with not paying cell phone bills on time:

1. Loss of Provider Trust

One problem with not paying the cell phone bill on time is that the provider can lose trust in you quickly. That may cause the provider to be reluctant to work with you or help you in any way. All providers like to see timely payments. If you constantly contact them with requests to extend you grace, they may eventually get tired of doing so.

2. Credit Problems

If the cell phone bill is a postpaid account, then you may end up with credit problems if you don’t pay for it. The cell phone provider may notify the credit bureaus of your lateness, and then you will have problems getting new service.

3. Loss of Service

If you do not pay your cell phone bill on time, the provider can cut off your service. You then may suffer some negative occurrences because your phone is off. For example, you may miss a job interview or an important phone call from a friend or family member.

4. Additional Fees

Many providers charge fees when their customers’ phones get cut off for lateness. So if you don’t pay your bill on time, you may get hit with a late fee and perhaps a reconnection fee when it comes time to reconnect your phone. Be very careful and try to make all of your payments on time so that your line will work smoothly all the time, and you won’t have any issues.

5. Disorganization

Being late on your cell phone bill could cause general confusion or general disorganization. That means that you may have a domino effect and end up late on other bills because your cell phone bill was late. Eventually, you could find yourself in a seemingly neverending cycle of lateness.

Those are five things that can happen when you don’t pay your cell phone bill on time. There are a few things that you can do to ensure that doesn’t happen. One of the things that you can do is set reminders. You may want to set them to start notifying you a week before the bill is due. That’s a way of tricking your mind into preparing to pay the bill early. You could also set up auto pay so that the money will automatically come off of the specified payment method. There’s a lot of things you can do to make this process a bit easier for you.
